I am able to use my old iMac as a monitor for my windows PC. I have used a LAN cable to achieve almost real time performance. A wired connection is recommended, using WiFi only for display is sometimes not desirable.

Im actually not using them and I returned both products.
I think idea is good for astrpad but lag for iMac5k is too big and cant be used as a main screen.
RPP was not my favourite because once you get used to writing on the glass (i use fountain pen option in Notes) its not advantageous anylonger. But I have to say feeling was very close to normal paper. But I guess how we write is evolving.
I love how easily and well it works. I’m using a 2015 iMac as a second monitor; after a bit of experimenting, I switched to Retina-screen mode, which works great with my new MacBook Pro. The iMac’s fan does turn on a lot; the only odd thing is that it does this when the MacBook’s screensaver appears on it, so something there is running the second screen kind of hot. But the lag is minimal and the extra screen space is really helpful. It’s like having the best of both worlds: laptop and desktop computer.

Indeed I have an issue with my workflow with the Luna Display. I`m using an M1 MacBook Pro, the Extended display is an iMac and those two work well enough. But when I connect a TV as a third monitor via HDMI /since I use Premiere Pro for video editing/ things go wrong - Premiere wouldn`t recognise the TV set when connected to the Luna Display. /With my old IntelMacBook there was no issues at all having 2 additional displays/. Any ideas?

Luna Display let me connect my MacBook Pro M4 2025 to an old iMac with retinal display resolution. I basically got a 5K monitor without having to buy a new one! I did follow a YouTube video for the initial connection. And I did purchase in advance the correct thunderbolt cables compatible with both computers. But all was connected smoothly within minutes and I am completely thrilled!
The product works fine. I use with my ipad. I think it is in line with quality and price of Apple.
For awhile I was trying to decide what to do with my old 2012 iMac after purchasing my M1 mini. Well those days are gone now that I found Luna! I am now using my 27" iMac as my main monitor which has allowed me to retain this beautiful monitor and not having to go out and purchase a brand new monitor and spending more money! Thanks Astropad!

A very convenient and versatile device! I work on the iPad like on a laptop!
I love both the protector and the pen tip. This is the first combo that really does feel like paper! Other tips have either been exactly like the Apple Pencil or they have been too harsh, cutting into the acreen protector and distorting the visual.

Excellent tool! Saved my older imac and creates an excellent secondary display for new mac mini! Use USB-C for the best performance. Wifi connection certainly works well, but USB-C connection removes the slight lag. Older imacs have awesome resolution so Luna is an absolute game changer. Very glad to have found this tool!
The Pen tips provide great control and I am able to draw with great precision. They are significantly better than the original tip. The surface sounds and feels like working on paper. Also, better than other brands I’ve used previously. Being removable is a huge plus, though admittedly, I haven’t removed it yet.
We can use the old iMac 27” with its excellent Retina display as a monitor for my MacBook. We use it connected via usb and for Photoshop or inDesign projects it works very well. Buying a similar Retina 27” would be very costly
It's compact and well made but I wish it was a bit wider as the laptop tips when resting one hand on the side. It probably works for smaller laptops. I have a 16" MBP.
This is our second purchase. I have purchased a competing product… and could not wait to get rid of it and get RPP. Now both of our iPads have the same feel. The quality of the screen is exceptional and the tips fit our Logitech Crayon perfectly.
